April 2018

Spring finally arrived in April and we felt for the first time this year a bit of warmth in the sunshine and everyone appeared to have that extra spring in their step.

I know that we always get criticised for talking about the weather but it does affect us in many ways and especially when Scout Groups and Girlguiding Groups have planned so meticulously their forthcoming events which commence this May.

Itchen South Scouts have planned their Scout Camp for 2018 with a very patriotic theme to commemorate their camp. Was it the pending Royal Wedding that inspired them to choose a Union Jack Flag for their background it certainly appears to celebrate all that is British.

From the South to the North it is that time of year again when you have the opportunity to take on the Durham Dales Challenge or may be staying here in Yorkshire for “Baht Tat Walk” being organised by the Aire Valley Scouts.

Wishing everyone who takes part in these event every success and we hope that you like our badges and feel that we have done your designs justice.

Girlguiding are getting “Energised” from May and have designed a fabulous looking woven badge which has an embroidered edge and is laser cut to an unusual shape. They have filled it with 9 colours to make it a bright and attractive badge and one we are proud of too.

The Brownies are preparing for their “Transition Camp” and their badges are just about ready as we didn’t have much time with this one. But we have pulled out all the stops for them and their badges will be ready in a turnaround time of 3 weeks. This is not something we can rely on though so make sure that you allows us a bit of extra time and help take the pressure off our production team.

If you like a good “Gang Show” then Todmorden is the place to go with their Diamond Jubilee Event celebrating 1959 to 2018.
